negotiating with life

September 14, 2010 by Lidia-Anain

Life you mean bitch hiding behind others

Forcing your will on me taking all my power

You make me pay for everything

There never are any freebies or bonuses

Often you kick my teeth in

Knowing I don’t have dental insurance

You cuddle up against my naked dreams

Only to drag them bare through the streets

When my plate is empty you hand me a spoon

Then fill it up with all the world’s struggles

How can I be expected to keep courting you?

You whisper in my ear softly and push me forward

Once again you promise to write me a happy ending

I’ve known you long enough that I know better

How’s about we negotiate and you let me live within

A happy musical montage that shows me doing better and better

Then I’ll take some more of your blows right up until

you deliver me my ending whatever that may be
